Welcome

Welcome

Ingomar Child Enrichment Center (ICEC) is an outreach ministry of Ingomar Church. Our goal is to help parents within our church and community care for and educate their young children in a loving environment that enhances each child’s development.

We believe young children grow best in body, mind, and spirit within a safe, nurturing environment that is responsive to their needs, abilities, and interests. Within this carefully structured environment, our teachers and staff support and direct children’s interactions with people, objects, experiences, and ideas. All interactions with children reflect a genuine respect for each child as a unique and precious gift from God.

We hope to instill confidence, independence, and self-esteem as we encourage the individuality of each child. We help children make discoveries about themselves and their world. Our program meets or exceeds state guidelines as established by Keystone Stars and national standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

These strengths make the ICEC a school of excellence, enrolling more than 250 children each year!

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to build community with young children and their families, to foster relationships within these groups and to provide an environment where children learn through play and experience God’s amazing love!

Our Curriculum

Both the preschool and childcare program adhere to a curriculum created by selected staff members of the Ingomar Child Enrichment Center. The team adapted a commercially produced curriculum, The Creative Curriculum, and aligned it with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Early Learning standards. This collaborative curriculum is developmentally appropriate, constructed of objectives for each stage and age of the young child, from infants to five-year-olds. Our teachers use this curriculum as a guide to provide instruction and facilitation to help each child develop skills they will need throughout early childhood which will prepare them for eventual success in Kindergarten.

Our Environment

Classrooms are well-equipped with creative learning materials that stimulate the development of young children. Each classroom is designed to provide opportunities for dramatic play, creative art, music, literacy experiences, block play, and small manipulative activities. Children enjoy access to an outdoor playground filled with exciting, age-appropriate equipment and a large, indoor play area.

Security Policies

Your child’s safety and the safety of our children, parents and staff is of the upmost importance. Your cooperation with teachers and staff helps us enforce the following safety measures:

Signing in and out: All persons entering the education center during school hours, 8 AM to 4 PM must enter via Entrance 2. If not picking up a child, sign in is required, and you must record the time you entered our building and wear one of our visitor badges. Upon leaving the building you will record the time you leave and return the visitor badge.

Key Fobs: The safety of your children as a primary concern. Securing our building is of vital importance in keeping your children safe. Our keyless access system offers advanced levels of managing who may enter and when entry is permitted. The education building can be accessed only with a key fob. Without a fob, entry can be granted at the entrance 2 after ringing the doorbell and passing a video security check.

Drop off and Pick up: When you register your child, you provide a list of all adults who will regularly pick up your child. It is important that the teacher be informed if someone other than a designated person is picking up your child.
